Your Comprehensive Eye Examination

We know it's important to be thorough. That's why we offer state-of-the-art computer assisted eye health and vision examinations that will uncover hidden, potentially sight-threatening eye disorders and diseases that are not found by a simple vision screening.

Medical History
Since the eyes are a part of the body, they can be affected by seemingly unrelated health conditions. We must know about your general health and any medications.

Occupation and Hobbies
We will want to know your specific occupation and recreational vision requirements so we can determine the lens formula that is best for your individual needs.

Fundus Photography
Fundus photos aid in diagnosis by giving color photographs to study so even the smallest gradual change can be detected and treated early.

Neurological Screenings
Evaluating the way your eyes and pupils work together can tell us if the nerves and muscles controlling your eyes are working properly or require more investigation. This is an often overlooked reason for reading difficulty in children.

The Most Accurate Prescription
At Advanced Vision Care we are committed to equipping our office with the most advanced vision testing technology available. Our latest diagnostic addition is the revolutionary EPIC-2100 Computerized Vision Testing System. We are the first practice in southern Arizona to utilize this specialized technology. Compared to standard manual equipment, the fully computerized EPIC-2100 is a faster, more accurate, and patient-friendly method of performing eye exams.

Computerized Visual Field Testing
The visual field is the total area you see at one time, including both your central and peripheral vision. Many eye and general diseases (such as brain tumors, vascular problems, glaucoma, optic nerve diseases, and macular degeneration) show visual field defects as an early sign.

Eye Health Testing
We will inspect the external and internal part of your eyes. With special instruments, a study will be made of the interior of the eyes for cataracts, glaucoma, and other diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure.

Consultation
All patients and parents will be provided with an explanation of the findings, their significance, the treatment plan, and other options. Your questions will be answered and the solutions to any difficulties will be reviewed.

Regular Eyecare: The Secret to Preserving Your Sight
Many people equate the need for an eye examination with replacing their eyeglasses. While it's certainly important to see well, undesirable changes in your eyes can occur which do not adversely affect vision in the early stages. Unlike the rest of your body, your eyes rarely hurt when there is something wrong. Do not rely on changes in your vision or broken glasses to remind you of your next appointment. Follow the advice of experts, have your eyes examined on a regular basis.
